Road Traffic Safety Policy
As the “Designated Operator” responsible for the operation of the Turkey section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline and associated facilities, BIL ensures that all road transportation, personnel and cargo transport activities and processes within its operations are carried out in compliance with nationally and internationally recognized road traffic safety standards, rules, and practices.
In delivering this operational service, BIL is committed to:
- Acting in accordance with national and international regulations, legal and relevant legislative requirements, and obligations arising from agreements within the scope of the Road Traffic Safety Management System, in line with BIL’s vision and mission;
- Establishing and continuously improving a human-centered and sustainable Road Traffic Safety Management System, under the leadership of senior management, by considering the needs and expectations of employees and all relevant stakeholders;
- Providing all necessary resources for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Road Traffic Safety Management System with the participation of all employees and relevant stakeholders, in order to achieve road traffic safety objectives and targets;
- Identifying potential adverse impacts and risks of our operations on road traffic safety, and taking necessary preventive measures in areas where traffic accidents that may cause loss of life, injury, or property damage can be managed;
- Conducting necessary training and awareness programs to enhance the awareness, consciousness, and competencies of our employees regarding road traffic safety, and fostering a strong culture of traffic safety and sense of responsibility on the road.
BIL hereby undertakes these commitments as part of its Road Traffic Safety Policy.
