BOTAŞ International (BIL) 's Public and
Public Relations team actively and continuously works at the Head Office
(Ankara), Haydar Aliyev Ceyhan Marine Terminal (Adana), and four pumping
stations and two pressure reduction stations along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan
(BTC) Crude Oil Pipeline route.
BOTAŞ International Anonim Şirketi (BIL)
and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Company (BTC Co.) attach utmost
importance to social impact management in a significant project that spans more
than 400 settlements in 10 provinces and 28 districts of these provinces
through which the 1076 km long Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline passes
within Turkey. With this sensitivity, the social requirements defined in the “Environmental
Social Impact Assessment Report”, “Host Government Agreement” and “Operating
Agreement” are meticulously fulfilled.
Our Public and Public Relations (PPR) teams
are a strong communication bridge between the Project and local communities and
authorities. In line with this critical mission, our teams carry out the
following activities with a practical, timely, and solution-oriented approach
with all stakeholders we interact with along the pipeline route:
- Relations with Local Stakeholders: Regular visits are made to
local authorities and communities along the pipeline route to exchange
information and strengthen cooperation.
- Information and Training Activities: Public relations teams hold informational
meetings and training sessions at primary and secondary schools, public
institutions, and gendarmerie stations along the pipeline route, providing
accurate and up-to-date information about the project.
- Social Investment Programs: Regular meetings are held with
BTC Co. and other stakeholders to coordinate and monitor social investment
programs effectively.
- Land Management and Violations: BOTAS
International’s Public and Public Relations teams
actively engage in addressing land violations and managing land issues,
providing quick and lasting solutions.
- Third Party Transitions and Complaint Management:
Our public and
Public Relations teams meticulously monitor third-party transitions, and the
complaint management system's coordination and follow-up are carried out
diligently.
- Local Employment and Supply Chain: We support a fair management
approach in our operations areas by collaborating to enhance local employment,
bolster the regional supply chain, and realize a fair management approach in
our operating regions.
- Visitor and Press Relations:
Visitors and press
members visiting the Haydar Aliyev Ceyhan Marine Terminal (CMT) and our
stations are warmly welcomed, and effective visit programs are organized for
all stakeholders.
- Emergency Preparedness and Coordination: In the drills planned and implemented by
our Health & Safety and Emergency Response Directorates, our Public and
Public Relations teams play a critical role in informing the public and
relevant institutions and ensuring coordination to determine the measures to be
taken against possible accidents and to improve existing measures.
With
these efforts, as the BOTAŞ International (BIL) Public & Public Relations
(P&PR) team, we continue to create a sustainable social impact in the
regions where we operate and to be in strong cooperation with all our
stakeholders.
